Indi Deol still remembers the first time culture took hold of him. He was six, at a wedding, and bhangra dancers burst onto the floor. The rhythm, the colour, the energy—it stayed with him. And in many ways, it never left.
That early spark grew into a lifelong mission: to amplify South Asian voices and make space for the stories that weren’t being told. Indi Deol is the founding director of DESIblitz, the UK’s largest online British Asian magazine—a digital platform built from the ground up to celebrate, document, and challenge. From arts and film to politics, identity, and everyday life, DESIblitz has become a vital part of the cultural conversation in Britain and beyond.
But this is only one part of Indi Deol’s story.
As director of Aidem Digital CIC, a social enterprise and media agency, Indi Deol has worked with young creatives across the West Midlands, supporting them to find their voices and step into industries that haven’t always welcomed them. Whether running digital workshops, commissioning new writing, or producing film and podcast content, his work is grounded in opportunity, representation, and the belief that talent should never be left waiting on the margins.
Indi Deol sits on the Cultural Leadership Board for the West Midlands Combined Authority and the Advisory Board for Aston Business School. He’s completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programme and was a finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. His work spans business, culture, community, and change-making—each thread woven back into the same core purpose: giving voice to stories that matter.
And behind it all is an unmistakable drive. A work ethic rooted in grit and resilience. A motto he lives by: no pain, no gain.
Indi Deol’s legacy is not just what he’s built. It’s in the doors he’s opened. The people he’s championed. The voices he’s helped bring into the light.
Because for Indi Deol, culture isn’t something you inherit.
It’s something you shape—and share.
