For nearly three decades, Steve has been shaping generations of young minds with his unwavering belief in the potential of every child. His motto, “I Can & I Will – Just Watch Me!”, is more than just words—it’s a philosophy he lives by, leading by example to instil confidence, ambition, and resilience in his pupils.
Beyond education, his self-funded challenges—traversing Arctic landscapes, scaling some of the world’s highest peaks, and undertaking gruelling ultra-marathons in the planet’s harshest environments—have raised over £200,000 for charitable causes, demonstrating the power of perseverance and purpose. As an ambassador for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and the Scouts, he continues to inspire young people to push their limits, give back, and believe in the impossible.
His impact has been recognised with an MBE from Her Majesty the Queen for services to education and charity, alongside a host of national honours, including a National Teaching Award, the Prime Minister’s Points of Light Award, the National Adventurer of the Year Award, Inspirational Teacher of the Year, and the I Love Manchester Most Loved Community Leader Award, among many others.
