The Role
We seek Remote Researchers to help us identify changemakers from across the UK—and increasingly, further afield. These are individuals making a positive difference in their communities or fields, and your research will directly inform upcoming Frameworthy exhibitions. You’ll be assigned a geographic focus and be responsible for researching, verifying, and summarising information about people whose stories deserve wider recognition. This is a task-based, fully remote role that values curiosity, clarity, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct manual, thoughtful research using trusted sources such as news media, honours lists, directories, and social media
- Identify individuals manually—AI tools may be used to assist with grammar or formatting, but all changemakers must be human-identified through genuine research
- Write short, original summaries (1-3 sentences) explaining each person’s contributions and why they are “Frameworthy”
- Collect accurate and verified contact details (email, website, social media)
- Record all findings in a shared Google Sheet, following our provided structure and formatting
- Handle all personal data respectfully and responsibly, in line with our values and data protection best practices
Requirements
- Strong research, writing, and summarising skills
- A high level of accuracy and efficiency
- University degree (in any discipline)
- Computer and reliable internet access
- Interest in social impact, storytelling, and cultural visibility
Pay & Time Commitment
- £90 per 100 approved changemakers identified with a 50% bonus (£45) on successful completion if minimal edits and inputs are required on our part. Thus, total pay with bonus is £135 per list.
- Based on our own experience doing this work, it typically takes 6–8 hours of concentrated research. Done efficiently, it might take around 5 hours; if you take your time, closer to 8.
- This works out to approximately £18 per hour if done efficiently, or around £13.50 if it takes longer.
- The list will need to reflect the standards set out in the training — including the level of detail, the types of changemakers we’re looking for, and overall quality. We’ll provide some helpful tips and places to start, but the work does require focus and judgement.
- UK-based researchers may also request free tickets to Frameworthy exhibitions (subject to availability)
- Fully remote, part-time, and flexible
- Payment made via PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer
What You’ll Gain
- Full training on Frameworthy’s tone, research process, and formatting
- Flexible, meaningful work you can do from anywhere
- A chance to contribute directly to cultural projects that uplift and recognise impactful individuals
- Potential for growth into editorial, outreach, or curatorial support roles
Eligibility & Inclusivity
- We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and locations, including individuals with disabilities and those based outside the UK
- This is a task-based, freelance-style opportunity, not an employed position
- You will be engaged as an independent contractor, responsible for your own tax and national insurance obligations
How to Apply
Upload your resume belong along with a cover letter with a short note telling us why this role appeals to you. Please also include a brief paragraph (3–5 sentences) about a real person—famous or not—who you believe is “Frameworthy,” and why.
